Breakfast at Night!

10:54 PM

The other week my bosses decided to have a brunch party.. at night! My bosses outdid themselves, and everything was so perfect, there was a variety of meals to choose from; we had pancakes, waffles, veggie quiche, bacon, fruit, mimosas, and even add-ins for the pancakes and waffles. It was absolute heaven, and my bosses are so amazing, such a fun night... oh and did I mention it was "pajama" themed?!

Black for summer? You're probably thinking aren't you supposed to wear brights and florals for spring / summer just around the corner? Yes and no! First off, you wear what you want, it's always important to stick to your true style, and express yourself via how you dress. Yes, there is a guideline, florals for spring, bright colors for summer, dark hues for fall, but it's always nice to do your own twist and wear dark florals for fall? yes, or yes.. you get what I'm saying?
So working at a boutique I see tons of new shoes, heels, and clothes coming in weekly, and I'm always purchasing new things. After looking in my closet, I realized I tend to go for brown heels naturally, and I thought, I absolutely don't have any black heels in my closet!
Today I pictured, the shoes I got from work, and hopefully in another post, I can collaborate them with outfits, and show just how truly you can wear black heels even for summer!
The first ones pictured above are fringe wooden heels. I love the boho feel of these heels, boho is always in and with festival season upon us, boho vibes are everywhere. I like how you can dress them up with a nice dress or make them casual with maybe some loose hippie-looking pants or even shorts (interesting twist?) They are really comfortable and can be found at Shop 112.
The second ones pictured above are chunky strappy heels. I always love a nice strappy heel, it looks clean, elegant, and can go with pretty much anything. The number one reason why I love these, are because the heel is super chunky, which means that it will be super easy to walk in! If you walked in strappy heels you know at time it can be a little nerve-wrecking, but with this comfortable heel it makes walking a breeze!
The third and final heel, is a thick strap casual heel. This style is perfect for an everyday look, like jeans, summer dresses, and comfy pants. The height of the heel is also perfect for a work day, because it isn't too high at all! This heel is also perfect for taking out of town and traveling in, easy to make something look dressed up, but also great for walking around and not tiring your feet.
Hope you enjoyed these, and below I linked similar styles if you want to get yourself a pair too, both inexpensive or expensive depending on your taste!

Fashion for a cure + Bloggers brunch!

4:49 PM

So this past Sunday was a really hectic but fun day! The weekend was busy and spent preparing for our fashion show at the shop I work at, we gave 100% of tickets sold and 20% of clothes sold profit to the American Cancer Society Relay for Life! We did really well, had a sold out show, and boy was it intense but crazy fun.
Sunday began with "Bloggers Brunch" at Infusions, the area I live is hosting a 'Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week' so that's new to the valley, because normally, stuff like this doesn't make it down here in South Texas, so it's really exciting! A few bloggers from the area got invited to attend a week of events dealing with fashion, new designers, meeting make-up artists, and getting together spreading the awareness of just how much bloggers there actually are here in the 956. It was really cool to meet other girls who share a love for fashion, taking pictures of food, and knowing the struggle of getting someone to take your outfit pictures, haha. The next event happens later today actually and I'll be sharing that with you all as well later!
After brunch, I rushed over to the shop to get ready for the fashion show, because I was actually going to be walking in it, so that was quite an experience. I walked with 'Debi Lou' models, an agency here in Mcallen who teach girls how to professionally walk, and pose. It's a really elite place and have even taught 'Ylianna Guerra' Ms. USA first runner up, so that's really interesting. Although I will not ever be a model due to my short stature it was fun to walk the catwalk, and get to experience what it feels like to walk the runway! I enjoyed the experience so much, but behind the scenes, it's a mad house! You literally have like 20 seconds to change from one outfit to the next then get back out there and walk! So it's just a bunch of girls running around getting the next outfit, needing help with zippers, necklace clips, and buckling heels! Nevertheless, it was such a great experience I'm glad I got to go through, and the crowds energy was lively and vibrant, made my nerves at ease and it was such a fun show.
